Bamboo Pen & Touch on Windows 7.
I got an email from Wacom Technical support the other day - regarding what to do if the driver stops, like mine has done several times. It seems I juswt had downloaded the wrong driver.
Here's what Wacom has to say:
1- Please go to the tablet preferences panel, hold down Ctrl (or Alt when using a Mac) while clicking on the about / info button. It will open a diagnostics screen, which shows attached tablet model, driver version, and other data from the tablet, such as pressure, coordinates and button information. . This will show us if the pen is defective, when the pressure is not moving when the pen is not in contact with the tablet, or if the coordinates doesn’t change.
In this case your pen (or tablet) is defective and you will have to send it to the repair center to have it fixed.
2- If not, please remove your tablet driver and download the latest one available at:
http://www.wacom-europe.com/index2.asp?lang=en&pid=29
a.) Reset the preference files in the wacom/pen tablet folder.
Go to Start=>Programs=>Wacom/Pen Tablet=>Preference File Utility
Now delete ALL.
b.) Please uninstall all drivers again. Go to Control Panel=>Add or Remove Programs
Now remove the Pen Tablet / Wacom Tablet. After a restart go to the search engine and look for the
files
tablet*.*
wacom*.*
pentab*.*
wintab*.*
Pen_Tablet.exe
Pen_Tablet.dll
Pen_TabletUser.exe
PenTablet.cpl
PenTablet.znc
Touch_Tablet.dll
Wintab32.dll
WTouchAPI.dll
WTouchCPL.exe
WTouchService.exe
WTouchUser.exe
and delete them.
As well delete the folders TABLET and WTABLET.
Please make sure, that you have hidden files included to the search.
Look in the System32 folder if the wintab*.* is deleted
In Vista64 there is a Wintab*.* in SYSTEM32 and in SYSWOW64.
You should deactivate your antivirus before installing the driver.
4- Then go to Windows device manager and disable the 'Wacom Virtual HID' device, and restart you computer
If there should be further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again.
Best regards,
Greg

Extractions [Photoshop Elements 8.0 / Windows 7]
Use the brush over the photo to make your selection, add to and subtract from selection, zooming in and out and resizing the brush to your desire as you go. I use my tablet for this, much easier than using a mouse.
My selection is the bottle, and I have to choose Selecte--> Inverse, before pressing the delete-key to get rid of everyting but the bottle. You could choose to make a selection of the background instead, and then just press delete after making the selection. Make sure the picture is a layer (not locked) before you press delete - or else you won't have a transparent layer. Make sure you save it as a png file (interlace: none).
